In Loving Memory...

Animals, like us people, die.  And so, with the living, there will always be a memory of those within our lives who die.  This area is for registered Jaskoski Rats that have passed away, and are greatly mourned for, whether it be death from a severe sickness, not caught quick enough for a veterinarian's work, or old age.  Soon, I will place a poem I have made in this page, between our first memorial and the title of our page.  Hopefully, death won't be so common if the cause isn't old age.  Well, here goes...

A Poem About Rats In Heaven

  A Heaven Awaits

Heaven Without My Rats

By: Rachel Ann Jaskolski

Many may not like you for the body in which you have,

Many know of your ancestors, where your reputation went bad.

Many feed you away to creatures that prefer you as their kill,

But, as your owner, and you my pet, it will not be your will.

I feed you all our leftovers, nearly every day of the week,

Maybe this is why your fur looks so healthy and so sleek!

Instead of the fear that many cousins face in other states,

You know full well that you can trust our hands within this place.

From the day in which you were born, and destined to be my friend,

You shall be spoiled rotten with love and care to your end.

Keep your lessons strong and keep kindness within your hearts,

And all pet rats will find Heaven, and join us when our souls depart.

We mourn for your short-lived lives upon our earthly home,

And soon we sit and ponder whether or not your Heaven is alone.

Patiently, we wait for our demise to bring us back to you,

Where you would sit and play, not knowing what to do.

You sniff the air so suddenly, at the fresh scent of your owner's soul,

And so you turn your body as a simple squeak from your mouth lets go.

There you go scampering, chattering your teeth as you come close,

Allowing your true master to realize that you missed them the most.

And so they pick you up and kiss your little, furry cheek,

As you softly kiss them back and act five times more sweet.

Joy spreads across you, as you surf on their shoulders once more,

As your owner's soul finally enters back through the great, golden door.

Until this day does come, we give you lots of love and care,

In hopes that when we do die, your loving heart would await us there.

A heaven is not heaven without your dogs, horses, or cats,

But my heaven is not a heaven when I cannot see my loving rats.
